Our Ministry Together
Rick and Jane McKinney have lived an extraordinary life of ministry. Once described as “mavericks,” they have literally stepped out into the unknown to embrace God’s call and have experienced His presence in a way that only comes through a life of obedience. Whether planting and pastoring churches, traveling the world to perform concerts, building a house in Mexico, traveling from village to village in India, or walking across America, they have followed His voice as He led them forward, one step at a time.
India
One of the most fulfilling times in our ministry was the ten days we spent in India. It was also one of the scariest times! We traveled to remote villages in Andhra Pradesh, preaching, singing and visiting orphanages. Many villages had no electricity and some had hostile opponents to Christianity.
China and Tibet
We were privileged to visit China three times and Tibet once. The people were amazing and we were allowed to do concerts, teach at the University and talk to students. Meeting with young Christian adults in Asia was the highlight of every trip.
Navajo Nation
After our first trip to the Navajo Nation to work with the children in Vacation Bible School, we were hooked! We visited the reservation for the next five summers and fell in love with the Navajo people. The picture on the left is of the children accepting Christ as their Savior.
Music Ministry
Jane and I both have degrees in Church Music and have performed concerts all across America and overseas. We have also written several award-winning Christian songs.
Children's Ministry
We have gotten the opportunity so many times over the years to minister to children. We have done puppet ministry, gospel illusions, ballooning, skits, neighborhood outreaches and Vacation Bible Schools. We've visited orphanages in both Mexico and India. We love telling children about Jesus! W
Preaching
There is little else in this world that I love more than preaching! I started when I was 14 years old. My dad allowed me to begin preaching on Wednesday nights right after I surrendered to preach. Fifty-four years later, I still sense the anointing whenever I stand to preach God's Word.
Walk Across America
Of course, in many ways, the walk across America was the highlight of our ministry. We have never experienced anything like it, before or after. 2770 miles, hundreds of gospel conversations, and how we see people changed forever!
